#2 Bel far niente
‘Bel far niente’ is a quote I came across in a book I read recently. Translated according to the book as the ‘Art or beauty of doing nothing'. It is with this spirit that I share these photographs from my recent trip to Venice.
I know Venice is very popular and I now understand why. I can tell when I find a place special, because of how I feel when I look through my developed photos. It is like the magical feelings reproduced, from the moments captured. Excitement, curiosity, freshness.
I am now dreaming of my next escape, in the midst of my ‘bel far niente’ phase, that I am currently embracing. Needless to say in between my great escapes, I am quite the talent in doing absolutely nothing. I need time to unwind, switch off and allow myself the space to daydream. “Rest is a form resistance” as someone told me recently.
